Homemade Popsicles by Icypops.com

I love the idea of homemade popsicles.. especially in the summer in AZ!! These looked so refreshing, so I thought I would try them out!

popsicles!.jpg

These popsicles were made using a popsicle maker from Williams Sonoma, but they would be just as tasty made in dixie cups with popsicle sticks!

I checked out Krystina Castella's website called icypops.com and found some fun icy pop recipes for the summer! If you are interested in her recipes you can go to:

Summer Fruit Trifle by Where Women Cook

Looks so good!

I found this recipe on the blog Where Women Cook... They have some really tasty looking recipes and I wanted to find one that would go with the theme for Memorial Day... here it is!

Quick & Easy Summer Fruit Trifle
1 pound cake from your favorite bakery, cut in cubes or 24 mini-cupcakes
One 12-ounce jar of raspberry jam
¼ cup Chambord, Sweet Sherry, Grand Marnier, or Kirsch
Fresh Whipped Cream
2 cups heavy cream
¼ cup confectioners’ sugar
Whisk together until soft peaks form by hand or with an electric mixer.
To make the fruit filling:
4 cups fresh fruit and berries, in season
½ cup sugar
To macerate the fruit: Toss your choice of summer fruits (peaches and assorted berries, such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries) together with the sugar until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
To assemble the trifle: Start by making jam sandwiches with the cake (or cupcakes). Cut them in half and spread jam on one half of the cake (or cupcakes) and place the other half on top.
Place the jam sandwiches in and layer them on the bottom of the jars, or trifle bowl. Pour your liqueur of choice over the cupcakes and to soak in to the cakes. Layer with macerated fruit on top of the cake followed by whipped cream. Repeat again with fresh fruit followed by the whipped cream.  Grab a spoon and enjoy!

Cuff Bracelet by Flamingo Toes

I saw this tutorial on Flamingo Toes Blog and thought it looked like fun to make! You don't need many items and it looks pretty easy to do:

Cute huh??

1. Start by getting your cuff ready.

2. Begin wrapping your ribbon around the cuff.
Make sure the end is covered so that no raw edges show.
Glue the end down so it is secure.

3.Continue wrapping and gluing . .
and wrapping and gluing. . . until you reach the other end.
Tuck the ribbon around the end and fold over. Glue the end down.

4. Cut circles from scrap fabrics for your yo-yo’s. (yes. the dreaded yo-yo’s. The things we do for our knockoffs)
Mine were about 1 1/2″.

5. To make a yo-yo, fold under the edge on the wrong side of the circle and hand sew a gathering stitch all the way around.
Pull the thread up so that the edges come together in a circle.
Flatten the yo-yo by pushing down the center section.

Knot the thread – now you have a cute little yo-yo.
Repeat 5 more times, until you have 6 small yo-yo’s
6. Glue the yo-yo’s onto the bracelet. I recommend starting with the center two, then working out for there.
7. Now glue on your assortment of beads/buttons.
I also used a couple of clip on earrings that were my grandmothers. I removed the backs so they had a flat surface to glue down.

8. Find a flat spot and wind just a bit of the rhinestone strand around one of the beads. This isn’t necessary but it adds a fun pop of bling. ;)

Aren't these cute?? I think I might try one sometime soon!

Front Door Decorating

I have seen a few pictures in magazines lately that I think are really neat decorating ideas for a front door... check them out!

I like this one with the table at the front door.... of course you would have to have a covered entryway, but I think it is so different and stylish

This one is more simple and sophisticated, I love the topiaries and the white framing around the door

So many ideas I am finding for a new house someday, makes me excited!

Organization

I saw this idea on Milk and Honey"s Blog and think it is such a cute idea for a bathroom! If only I had the setup in our bathroom to use this idea!

I love this!! What a great idea to keep everything organized!
